Because I’;ve been having so much fun with my Silhouette lately, let me show you how I’;m getting ready for Christmas…;.

I’;ve used the vinyl (that I actually purchased here for much cheaper) to put some great vinyl right on the wall…;…;.and then added some hanging empty frames right over top.

I just love this season.

Each of the frames are hung with little strips of red wool herringbone…;..tied into floppy little bows.

(Strips of fabric were made by making long tubes of fabric, turning right side outoutdoor cushion covers, pressing flat, sewing ends shut, and looping through the empty frame, and then tying into a bow.)

And each of those frames are cheap-y thrift store frames, spray painted black, and the glass and backing taken out.

See how those frames are actually just framing the vinyl that’;s applied to the wall?

My first piece of Christmas decor that I have displayed out in the open.

Ahhhh…;…;I love this time of year.

**Keep in mind that you can either purchase pre-cut vinyl and make your own Christmas decor (there are many vinyl dealers online), cut it out on your own craft cutter, or buy some vinyl and cut it out with an Exacto knife.

I have been realizing that many of you who are visiting my site are new around here.? Or have maybe only been reading for the past year or two.? I have tried to set up this site to make it search-able and place every project into a category, etc……but there are many projects that are hidden little treasures, buried way back in the archives.? Some are 3, 4, and even 5 years old (wow, has it been that long?)…..but are such fun projects to make.? In fact, I revive my old tutorials all the time for myself and pull up the post on how I made something, so I can make it again.? Because no, I don’t have a photographic memory and I can’t remember exactly how I made something.? So, I was thinking that every once in a while, I would re-share an old post for you guys.

Every Easter as a kid, my sisters and I would put together an Easter egg tree for the house. This consisted of us spending a whole afternoon blowing the yolks out of eggs, dyeing them, and then decorating a small tree (aka a branch) for the dining room table. This year I wanted to put a modern touch to the classic Easter egg tree, by turning it into a wall hanging. Whether you celebrate Easter or not, this is a fun way to welcome the coming of spring.
